Part 2 Sponsorship

Crowd Funding has now closed at Offbeatr. Thankyou everyone who supported us. It was touch and go for a while, but we made our base target with minutes to spare. :O

1.7.6 Alpha release is up

You can get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ucb3gz8v0sl64sr/ROCER1.7.6-all.zip
or you can use the automatic updater in previous releases.

There are very few changes with this release, mainly new artwork around Iolite on Patrol. I am getting a bit better at the artwork, but I am not that fast at it.

We have a few people coming up to speed on the artwork side and I hope we will  see something from them soon.

BTW, a few of us use Poser which has a some advantages over DAZ Studio (like it actually comes with a fair bit of content). It is on sale this weekend at Renderosity for $50 which is better than half off if anyone is interested.

Getting back on track

Things are improving. The last few months have been tough for a few of our team. We lost one artist and one will still be out for the the next few months at least. Fortunately, things have improved for our remaining two and we should start seeing new art from them quite soon.

We also have two new people who have a lot of enthusiasm although they are new to 3D art and we hope to see something from them soon.

I have been getting on with some of the simpler art and have been working through Iolite's scenes on patrol in the tunnels.

So that is where we are at present. Hopefully we will have enough new art to justify a new release in the next few weeks.

Status Update

Not much to say this week. No one has come forward to help with the artwork, so it looks like it is just me until life improves for our other artists.

I have started work on what I am calling the rumours as well. It is just randoms sayings that will come out instead of "Did you hear". They will just be little snippets that will give you a better idea of what is going on and help you understand the plot better.

The 3d art process is one of set-up and then render and then post-work. I can do the rumours while the rendering is going on as it takes between 5 and 15 minutes usually.

There are still more than a few bugs here and there so I will be working on those as well as I get to them. Things may be going a bit slower for a while, but we will get there in the end. :)
