It has been a frantic week or so chasing a lot of bugs and getting them patched. For the next little bit I am going to be working on getting some of the recently completed artwork into the game. Unless there is something really wrong with the following patch, I will not put out another one before releasing 1.6.0 which will be a full download. My aim is to get that out in about 2 weeks.

Aside from fixing bugs, I have added the Unpregnant button in the stats screens in case you get someone pregnant you shouldn't like Tanzy and Mel. These will have bad ends attached to them at some point, but at the moment, it leaves you in limbo.

Redemption of the Crimson Empress is a single player standalone adult game in the Japanese Futanari (hermaphrodite) style with aspects of solitaire, an rpg/sim, and a visual novel. It is built on the Renpy game platform, has an original story line and original 3D rendered art work.
May be a silly question, but I wanted to be sure. How do you patch the game?
ReplyDeleteThe patch is really just a complete copy of the game with most of the images removed.

Moonblack was asking about where kitaxxa_garden_3.jpg shows up in the game. I took a look at sex.rpy and I noticed that it doesn't use kitaxxa_garden_3 anywhere. But I'm pretty sure it uses kitaxxa_garden_2 by mistake instead, with the text "Make sure you get the right hole!"
ReplyDeleteI think I found another small bug. I went on a patrol with Iolite, before it was suggested I do so. I got the event where we find abandoned mining tools. However the journal reads, "You and [PatrolPartner.name] have found etc.."

DeleteI found something else. After seducing Jester and successfully fucking her, a red text message popped up in the left hand corner. It was quite hard to read but it seemed that it was looking for a file with the words "jade" and "passage" in it?

I got Jade pregnant (hit the bullseye, she got the little pregnancy icon in her status), then went on a patrol alone. However, after being offered a potion of voluminous discharge and saying thanks, the potion wasn't in my inventory. I only had 4 items in my inventory.

ReplyDeleteHi found your project a few months ago, played till the end of training, thought is was a ok game then went on my way. Then last month I randomly remembered this project tried it again and decided that I would follow this project, with that being said let me offer my option on a few things:
1st: In the train parts, both first and second half, There should be a option every match before you play a game to see all card combos and the rules again. But just in the training parts cause at first I when I wanted to look up the rules again in the first 10 minutes of playing I didn't find them and it took me a bit to find the combo chart hidden in the help menu.
2nd: The part of training leaves you wondering what's next/why should I keep playing (I'm going from first time experience play through). Mainly my problem was after I got the two lessons with Kallestian that I thought that there was going to be more the next time I dueled her even as I got the "You must get better" message I would try and exit the game and restart the match to get higher points thinking what I got wasn't high enough till I got the point that I had to grind a bit to proceed. Maybe you can change/add a line of dialogue from her saying she fuck/tell you more about where you are once your body adapts to the land more/tergomindus changes you more.
3rd: Like everyone else is say you need to explain a bit better what to do when you get into the palace. now I understand its still in alpha but I read some comments that I'm supposed to get a text message saying I need to get Jade on patrol, I never got that but I found out through shear dumb luck. Maybe if you have Kallestian say before hand that Selennia would text you something so we would know to expect and where to start. I say maybe you can put hints on where to go/ what's supposed to happen in dialogue of people you talk to (wait that's probably what's the talk option will be for so maybe you can release a basic rough sketch about what were supposed to do/go)
4th: Spells, honestly I would like some hints on who could teach me spells as I was surprised that I learned the undo spell from Zarielle and even fertility rates from others in the court though there was no indication that I would get anything from seducing her. maybe you can put a line for Kallestian saying Zarielle is know to dig up dirt on other people/is lose lipped in the throws of passion. (I'm going with looking through the eyes of a new player who hasn't checked your blog about the game and read all the messages detailing how to do what)
5th: Last is maybe you can give Kallestian some more lines before she leaves/dies what ever. What I'm getting to is that Kallestian can tell you what some knights personalitys are and who is more loyal to the crown, who is more sexually active, and what not. In fact why don't you have her lead us into what were supposed to do at the beginning of the palace like you can put a scene where she saying something like "Although none of them are trustworthy at first, Zarielle is one of the more loosely aligned ambassadors, mainly worried about fooling around with the court then her duties to the crown" or something like that and all the other suggestions I put about her in the other points.

Thanks for the detailed observations. I really appreciate them. We have someone working on a comic for Part 1 with an enhanced story line. When that is done, I hope to get some of those enhancements back into the game if they fit.
DeleteI aim to put in a lot of gossip when I get the the talk section. This will reveal some nuggets about what is going on and who may give spells.
Kal should have given a few more hints it is true. The basic tenet is to get as many as possible to like you as much as possible and address the little side quests that pop up, as and when you can.
Tergomindus might be able to give a reminder in training if you fail to score on what the scoring combos are and how to look at them.

I can't figure out how to advance to quest between kitaxxa, Dzazd, and Tzany. Dzazd has an artifact that I need, he wants information from the patrols and told me to meet in his room early morning. But he wouldn't talk to me. I level his disposition but now I just get the generic response. Also Verdite is still impossible to impregnate
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have found a bug with Dzazd. You can get her to like you by dominating her btw. She is in to that kind of thing.
DeleteI have her at over 80 disposition but it didn't change anything. Something else I noted: the journal says that Iolite shows you a new way of gathering the flower but I haven't seen the option of using that method. I'm not sure if its because I can only patrol with Cerise, Iolite, and Verdite.

ReplyDeleteI find that the lack of art kinda breaks my immersion in the game, and I'm kinda feeling like waiting till there's enough art so 95% of the screens aren't blank. Is the art already commissioned and just waiting to be added? or is it going to be months before it's fleshed out?

DeleteWe have 4 artists working on commission, but each sequence takes them a few weeks to get done. It is a lot of work.
We used crowd funding to pay for the commissions and it looks like we have just enough cash at present so that I won't have to do too much of the art work. ( I am the emergency backup artist.)

IMO you could have on of the artist put a rough draft/drawing so we can understand/see how the pictures will come out

Rendering isn't like drawing, you can't really get a rough draft, unless you count a rendering with zero post-work as a "draft." Doing it the way you suggest would take even MORE time for everyone involved.
DeleteI cant try it, I get a crash as soon as I open it. I do ignore a couple of times and then I get the welcome screen. But when I click on either standard or quick it crashes again.

DeleteA couple bugs I've found after playing the game for a while.
ReplyDelete1) the add random montly card to your hand spell doesn't work, it just discards and draws a random card from your hand.
2) The tentacle monster keeps asking me if I want to invade someone's dream, it used to happen sporadically but if I click anywhere on the screen instead of saving it just asks me again.
3) during one of the go alone on patrol encounters I encounter a troll, and the jester randomly shows up and gives me coins. I'm unsure if this makes sense with the pictures but it's very very confusing
4) I got jade pregnant (as per the instructions of her mom) and now she's just gone. I know the quest was to get her to go back to wherever but I'm unsure if I just bugged her away forever, or if she's just gone now that her quest is complete. if it's not a bug, then it would be nice if there was a message that was something along the lines of "Jade has left the court because of a baby"
But I really like the game! I look forward to more progress!
The Jester was magically disguised as a troll. There is a similar event in part 1, where you are magically disguised as a troll.
DeleteWhen women become pregnant, they are immediately taken away. This is something stated in part 1.
The add a monthly card spell works like it's supposed to. It replaces one of your existing cards with one of the monthly cards.

Delete1) If there is already a monthly card in the pool, the spell makes it move to your hand in exchange of a random one. If there is a monthly card in your hand and you cast the spell, that card moves to the pool and you receive another one (randomly too). If there isn't monthly cards both in your hand or in the pool, you receive one of that cards instead of another you have, randomly. Maybe it's a bit tricky to take advantage with it.
2) In order to make the astrologer of the court pregnant (the orange 8 from the deck), you have to visit the throne hall between 9 and 12 a.m. Then Tergomindus asks if you want him to take you inside her dreams, disguised as another character. You just have to keep winning hands to make progress on that character history.
3) Milkman Dan explained it. If i'm not wrong, in part 1 you meet Jester when scoring the bonus cards (the 9's) at miners quest, for that quest Kallestian makes you looks as a troll.

On 4, there will be some gossip the next day in court. I just have not got there yet ...
